Selena Quintanilla Perez (Spanish pronunciation"se'lena, kinta'nija, 16 April 1971 - - March 31, 1995) was known by her mononym, Selena, was an American Tejano singer. Her name is the "Queen of Tejano music" Her contribution to fashion and music have made her one of the most well-known Mexican-American entertainers in the last decade of the 20th century.
